I've never really been one for hair oil. I didn't really understand why you would put oil in your hair- surely that would make your hair greasy? But, after the surprise summer we had (I know, seems like a distant memory now!) my hair became much drier than usual. I have naturally very curly hair, so my hair is often dry and with the addition of the sun, I think it's safe to say my hair was as silky and nourished as straw.
I searched on many a beauty blog for some advice and it seemed the most common response was to get myself a hair oil, and so I finally began my quest to find the perfect one. I tried a couple out, but, after seeing it on offer in Superdrug, I picked up the L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil.
It comes in two types- one for normal hair (this one) and one especially for coloured hair. The packaging is very sleek, as to be expected from L'oreal, and the product comes in a good sized glass bottle.
You just pump two drops onto your hands and rub them together and comb it through your hair with your fingers. I would say it's better to use it on wet hair, so it dries better, but I have also used a small amount on dry hair to tame any fly away frizzy bits.
I really like this product. It has a very smooth consistency and doesn't feel oily. As long as you don't overuse it, I don't think it will make your hair look greasy. It's very lightweight and helps to de frizz and detangle your hair. I found my hair was a lot more tame and a lot less dry after using this for a few months. As you can see, it hardly looks like I've used it and I've been applying it least 3 times a week for the last few months, a little really does go a long way!
It retails for about £9.99 I think, which isn't a massive splurge but I don't think it's particularly cheap either, hence I got it on offer. But after having used it, I think it's actually a pretty good price for the quality of the product. A definite re-purchase! It didn't transform my hair to a sleek, smooth, frizz free miracle, but I don't really think a product with those capabilities exists yet, so until it does, this will do me!
I would love to hear what you guys think of this product!
